The Joffrey Ballet Spring Gala

The Joffrey Ballet’s annual Spring Gala was held on Friday, April 17, 2015, hosting over 850 of Chicago’s cultural leaders raising over one million dollars to support The Joffrey Ballet and its Educational and Community Engagement Programs. Hosted by co-chairs Noren Ungaretti and Elizabeth Yntema, amongst the attendees were international choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, New York City Ballet Resident Choreographer Justin Peck, CNBC’s The Profit Marcus Lemonis and Johnson Publishing’s Desirée Rogers.

The evening included an exclusive performance at The Cadillac Palace Theatre and event at the Hilton Chicago celebrating the ballet company’s twentieth year in Chicago.

This year’s gala program began at The Cadillac Palace Theatre with a performance including The Joffrey and Chicago premiere of New York City Ballet resident choreographer and soloist Justin Peck’s, In Creases, The Joffrey and Chicago premiere of Liturgy by one of the world’s most sought after choreographers Christopher Wheeldon, Windy Sand by Joffrey Academy Artistic Director Alexei Kremnev performed by members of the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program and Studio Company, and a performance by students from the inspiring Community Engagement Program. 
 
A 20th Anniversary toast with the choreographers and Joffrey Company hosted by -Moët & Chandon was held following the performances at the theatre before guests were transported to the Hilton Chicago for an evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing to the Rich Daniels and the City Lights Orchestra.

A Magnificent Taste 2014

For the third year, chefs from Chicago's most renowned restaurants showed off their culinary skill with delicious bites for foodie festival-goers including Stephen Wambach of Allium, Tim Graham of Travelle, and John Coletta of Quartino. Sam Talbot of Bravo's Top Chef was the celebrity host for the evening. Proceeds from the event benefitted local non-profit Common Threads, which teaches children from low-income families the importance of health and nutrition.

Ford Models Beauty Suite

The third annual Ford Models Beauty Suite took place at The Godfrey Hotel where attendees received complimentary manicures, hair styling, and make up by Ford Artists and brow shaping by Chella Brow Bar. Treats were provided by Union Sushi and Vosges Haut-Chocolat.  Surprise flower deliveries from Kalla dazzled guests and a Via Strozzi Trunk Show gave the event an extra pop of color.


Lollashop 2014

The Lollashop featured a two level space with a store on the first floor, spin classes from Full Psycle and mini spa treatments by Red Door Spa. 

The pop-up shop also featured a new capsule collection, “Lolla Loves Chicago,” in honor of the festival’s 10th year in Grant Park. 

Collaborations included BucketFeet, the Chicago Blackhawks, MADE Eyewear, TOMS, Character Skateboards, Casual Friday, and Chi Chi Sport. Merchandise ranged from a Lollapalooza themed bicycle to braided bracelets.

Granja Urbana Dinner Series Part 3

 

Cantina de la Granja’s third installment of the Granja Urbana series was both held and benefitted the Gary Comer Youth Center, a nonprofit organization that provides programming for children and teens living in the inner-city. The dinner included produce grown at the GCYC's urban rooftop garden that is maintained by youths involved in programs at the center, who also assisted Chef Diana in preparing the dinner.

Granja Urbana Dinner Series

Cantina de la Granja’s second installment of the Granja Urbana series was held at Bulthaup Studios benefiting Common Threads, an organization that teaches kids "living in underserved communities how to cook wholesome, healthy meals" and educates them about nutrition, according to its website. Each Granja Urbana dinner will benefit partner organizations that focus on providing local communities with food, agricultural training, and education about healthy eating.

Magnolia Bakery x BHLDN

Magnolia Bakery partnered with wedding boutique, BHLDN to launch a new range of tiered wedding cakes. The new line of decorated cakes were paired with BHLDN's spring collection, paired with inspired looks in the retailer's print, email, and online campaigns. Events were hosted in Chicago, LA and NY where invitees had the opportunity to preview the new cakes, browse through new cake accessories and décor, as well as BHLDN’s new spring bridal gowns.

Magnolia Bakery Nutcracker Cupcake


To continue Magnolia Bakery's support of the arts, the bakery partnered with The Joffrey Ballet to create The Nutcracker Cupcake. Featured for the two and a half week run of the show, the cupcake quickly became the most popular product in the bakery while available. In addition to the cupcake, the bakery also hosted the production's Sugar Plum Fairy for a meet-and-greet and held a daily in-store/social media giveaway for tickets to the show, Nutcracker merchandise, and sweet treats.

dot429 rolled out the red carpet at PUBLIC Hotel for 150 of Chicago’s most stylish set to celebrate the launch of its new national glossy magazine, FOURTWONINE.  To keep with the inaugural issues theme of ‘friendship,’ which featured Sarah Jessica Parker and Andy Cohen on the cover, the VIP event was hosted by well-known ‘friends’ in the Chicago community;Jay Michael (Cedar Street Co.) and Alex Samoylovich (Cedar Street Co.); Alison Fyfe  (Equinox) and Nicole Banks (Gilt City)Chris LaMorte (Urban Daddy) and Mel Muoio (Element Collective); Ray Koenig Clark Hill)and Marisa Cipolla Northern Trust); Jessica Zweig (CheekyChicago) and James Goeke (ESAM).

Guest sipped on signature drinks by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Penfold’s Wine and sampled popular items off PUBLIC’s menu. The evening’s festivities benefited Freedom To Marry, which partners with individuals and organizations across the country to end the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage.

The Magnificent Mile's ShopFest

Award-winning artist Jason Derulo performed live on the runway as 900 North Michigan Shops, The Shops at North Bridge and Water Tower Place showcased this season's hottest trends. Plus, Emmy-nominated actress Christina Hendricks served as the evening's special guest host. It was the kick-off to 12 days of celebration all throughout The Magnificent Mile district!
